Apr 30, 2014 A new version of Android KitKat is now available for the international version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100). If you are unable to get the new firmware over-the-air then you can download. Samsung has rolled out an update to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat for the WiFi variants of the Galaxy Tab 3, SM-T210, T210R. The update is hitting different regions at different times through Samsung Kies or OTA. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is available via firmware upgrade for the international GT-N7100 variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, about a month after we saw its first leak. The update is available via Kies in France, with and OTA update soon to follow. Details courtesy of SamMobile are as follows.
The latest Android OS, the Kitkat 4.4.4, can now be installed on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The upgrade is possible thanks to OmniROM despite GSMArena listing the OS as 'upgradeable to Android 4.4.2.'
Although the Kitkat 4.4.4 update may eventually arrive to not only the Galaxy Note 2 but also for the rest of the Galaxy series, users are already itching to get the it even with the use of custom ROMS.

It is quite possible to install the firmware to the device but doing so will render any existing warranties as void. Users who install this unofficial firmware should be well aware of the risk and the consequences.
Before installing the update, make sure the following conditions are met:
1. The USB Drivers for the Galaxy Note 2 must be installed on the computer to transfer needed files.
2. USB Debugging must be turned off. To disable it, go to Settings, Developer Options, and then tick off the check box beside USB Debugging.
3. Data must be backed up on the computer as installing the firmware wipes the memory of the device.
4. Battery power must be at least 80 percent to prevent any interruptions while installing.
5. The device must be rooted and running the latest CWM or TWRP recovery tools.
6. The Galaxy Note 2 must have the model number N7100 as the ROM only works on those models. To check the model number, go to Settings, About Phone, then view the Model Number.
If the above requirements are met, installation can then begin. Note that users must have adequate knowledge in installing firmware via ROMS. Users following this guide do so at their own risk.
To install Android 4.4.4 on your Galaxy Note 2 using the OmniROM, follow these directions:
1. Download the OmniROM file and the Gapps file. Afterwards, connect the Note 2 to the computer via the USB cable and move the downloaded files to the internal storage of the phone. Do not unzip the files.
2. Remove the device from the computer and switch it off.
3. Enter recovery mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons at the same time.
4. Create a Nandroid backup of the current ROM the phone is in. This will serve as a backup plan when the OmniROM fails, where users can simply revert to the previous ROM it was installed in.
For CWM, select Backup and Restore, name the file, and move on with the installation process.
For TWRP, select Backup, name the file, and move on with the installation process.
5. Perform a Factory Reset. This will delete all the installed apps and resets the system files to its default setting. This will not affect any data stored in the internal and external storage.
For CWM, select wipe data/factory reset.
For TWRP, select Wipe.
6. Install the ROM for the Galaxy Note 2.

For CWM, select Install zip from sdcard and then choose the OmniROM zip file from the sdcard. Look for the ROM and install it.
For TWRP, select Install, look for the ROM and install it.
7. After the ROM has been installed, follow the same procedure to install Gapps.
8. After both installation processes, return to the recovery mode and reboot the device into normal mode.
If followed correctly, the Note 2 should now be running the OmniROM with the Android Kitkat 4.4.4 update.
